"I am sure this training will make a valuable contribution to the work with drug misusers – especially in community projects and in the church context”
Revd Prof Chris Cook, Durham University

"I've just completed the SMCC Course.  It was a year that shaped my attitude towards recovery.  It definitely equips and develops and deepens passion for working in this field.  I cannot recommend this course highly enough."
Rob McGibbon, Manchester

Our training courses and packages equip the Christian community to understand and support recovery from addiction.

All our courses are mapped to relevant National Occupational Standards (NOS) specifically the Drug and Alcohol (DANOS) units – work-based competencies relating learning to practise. This material is balanced with spiritual insight and biblical wisdom gained from years of practical experience in the addiction field.

  • Professional and practical, relevant and jargon-free.
  • Equipping participants so they feel more comfortable talking about and dealing with the issues.
  • For keyworkers, counsellors, other professionals and volunteers, as well as church leaders, youth workers and people in recovery from addiction,
  • All courses reflect clear Christian values.
  • Unless otherwise stated no prior knowledge of the subject is required.
  • Our trainers are experienced in the field, using up-to-date information.
  • Material is delivered using various methods from group discussion to visual demonstration.
