courses & training days

Basic Addiction Awareness
Delivered over a ½ day, an evening, or 1-2 days as needed.

Equipping the Church to Reach an Addictive Society
More comprehensive than the Awareness Course, an ideal introduction to our Modular Training or Working with Addictive Behaviour Course.  Delivered over 1 or 2 days as needed.

Pastoral Training
To equip the clergy and those in Christian leadership roles to respond effectively to the issues they face in this context.  A 2 day course but each day can be delivered as stand-alone if necessary.

Volunteer work with addictive behaviour
For volunteers working with projects/churches helping individuals or families with substance use and addiction problems. A 4 day course with placement and learning diary. 

Working with Addictive Behaviour
(Formerly our Certificate
Course in Substance Misuse, Care and Counselling)
A unique professional course with a clear Christian theological foundation incorporating the latest research and developments in the field. 10 taught days with placement and learning diary.



Modular Training Programme
Delivered as stand-alone days or part of a training package - choose from 10 individual modules, with a significant number derived from our Working with Addictive Behaviour course.

Prevention and support for youth in an addictive society
Delivered over a ½ day, an evening, or 1-2 days as needed.

Working with young people with addictive behaviour
Aimed at workers or volunteers who want to respond effectively to young people struggling with
addictive behaviour eg. substance misuse, self-harm etc.  4 days comprising 2 x 2 day modules –
each module can be taken separately. 

Establishing a family support group
This course is designed to help churches set up and run a support group for family members who are affected by another’s addiction.  4 training days involving 2 or 3 days initial training, a review and further training day. 

Day Recovery module
Covers foundational addiction awareness including relapse, as well as specific content focused on Structured Day Recovery and group facilitation.
Can only be taken as part of the Living-Recovery franchise package. .
